Monter dans l'nord is the product of a 2 weeks residency (December 2013) at Atelier de l'île.  
«Once fact becomes reminiscence, once the banal object becomes sacred, at the intersection of anecdote and myth is where you find St-Jean Aubre's print work. By her pictorial exploration, she proposes, with no chronology, led by intuition and a sense of play, in the position of omniscient narrator and game master, instants and objects that managed to transcend the ordinary to inscribe themselves in her memory. For Monter dans l'nord, she focuses on souvenirs of Laurentides, a Quebec region she often frequented from childhood to adulthood.»
